Cheyenne Frontier Days
Wyoming Weekend Vacation
Known as the "Daddy of 'em All", the Cheyenne Frontier Days is the longest continuous running rodeo in the world. With roughly 1,800 cowboys and cowgirls
participating, it also makes it the largest outdoor rodeo in the world. The Cheyenne Frontier Days take place over a ten day period ending the last full week of July, in Cheyenne Wyoming, and
regularly draws around 400,000 to 500,000 visitors from all over the world. In addition to the daily rodeo events, there are a number of other events that take place
including concerts, fair, rides, food vendors, parades, the Cheyenne Frontier Days Western Art Show and Sale, pancake feed, Chuckwagon cookoff, in addition to a United States Air Force
Thunderbirds aerial show.
For those traveling from Denver, a unique option is the Denver Post Cheyenne Frontier Days train that originates at Union Station, on a one day round trip. The train is powered by the last steam powered
locomotive (No. 844) built for the Union Pacific. For most others, the easiest route into Cheyenne is via either I-80 or I-25.
